Universal Health Coverage​

Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is a priority in many ASEAN countries in response to informal workers’ demands. HomeNet South-East Asia is working with Affiliates and developing regional strategies aimed at bringing together informal worker organizations, national health policymakers, other civil society groups and allies in the field of public health in order to build awareness and commitment to UHC. In September 2019, during the ASEAN Civil Society Conference (ACSC)/ASEAN People’s Forum (APF) HNSA’s leaders elaborated on the principles needed, and made a calling for universalism, equity in standards, public financing, comprehensive benefit packages, and participatory governance.
