HomeNet International will once again be present at the upcoming 112th session of the International Labour Conference (ILC), hosted by the International Labour Organization in Geneva from June 3–14, 2024. We are proud to send a delegation of home-based worker leaders and representatives to actively participate in this decisive event.

The conference will convene worker, employer, and government delegates from the ILO’s 187 Member States. They will engage in productive discussions on crucial topics such as protection against biological hazards (standard-setting, first discussion), a recurrent discussion on the strategic objective of fundamental principles and rights at work (FPRW), and a general discussion on decent work and the care economy.

As part of our commitment to advocating for the rights and well-being of informal economy workers, HNI, in collaboration with our sister organizations — the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF), the Self-Employed Women Association of India (SEWA), StreetNet International, the International Alliance of Waste Pickers (IAWP) and WIEGO — aims to effectively convey the demands and aspirations of informal economy workers worldwide. Our goal is to ensure that the informal economy becomes a space of fairness and dignity, where decent work is a reality for all individuals.
