Ngalo Buwereza Organisation (NBO) held an induction and leadership training on the 24th May, 2024 in Kampala, Uganda bringing together elected leaders from seven regions of Mpigi, Wakiso, Kayunga, Mukono, Eastern, Western and Central.
The induction and leadership training targeted the regional coordinators, district chairpersons, treasures, secretaries and their vice counterparts and mobilisers identified and recruited during sensitization workshops carried out in the months of February and March 2024 especially in regions that didn’t have prior representation at the working group level.
The induction and leadership training sought to fulfil the following objectives:
- To promote collective and accountable leadership within the home based-workers organisations.
- To sensitise the participants in understanding the concept of leadership.
- To provide training and capacity building for members to address social, economic and community challenges.
At the end of the session, the participants were able to appreciate the following:
- Understanding and knowing what leadership is
- Why good leadership is needed
- Qualities of a good leader
- General leadership roles
