The UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia Pacific had the participation of Suntaree Saeng Ging, Regional Coordinator for HomeNet South East Asia.

The session offered a comprehensive overview of the multifaceted challenges informal economy workers face within the supply chains and end-of-life disposal of plastics, electric vehicles, and textiles. By incorporating the voices of these workers, we will delve into the rights issues and impacts of transition projects on their economic livelihoods and health. The session made a compelling case for the essential inclusivity of informal economy stakeholders in creating just safeguards and appropriate remedial frameworks to address displacement and harm.

The event was co-organized with HomeNet International, the International Alliance of Waste Pickers, Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives – Asia Pacific, Philippine National Waste Workers Alliance, Thyajya Shramika Sangha, and in collaboration with #UNRBHR.
