The Regional Coordination of Homeworkers’ Organizations of Latin America and the Caribbean COTRADO ALAC has initiated the process to register the organization in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During the months of January and February 2023, the Committee of Cotrado Alac carried out the revision of its Statutes.

Among its goals are:

  • To promote advances in economic and social development, through the popular and solidarity economy, in favor of the fight against poverty, with the defense and guarantee of the rights of home-based workers;
  • To develop actions that strengthen Latin America and the Caribbean economically, with justice and equity, effectively benefiting home-based workers and all their associative forms;
  • To increase the visibility and recognition of organizations that bring together home-based workers, developing better working and living conditions;
  • To influence the ratification and implementation of Convention 177 and Recommendation 184 of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
