About the session:
This event will focus on women home-based workers and the various forms of gender-based workplace violence they encounter. The workplace violence includes both economic violence perpetuated by sub-contractors, as well as domestic violence. The dialogue will also focus on the unfair burden of care work and the lack of policies and systems to support home-based work.
This webinar provides a unique opportunity to hear from home-based workers’ organizations from Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, emphasizing the experiences of over 1.3 million HBWs worldwide and advocating for their right to decent work.
This is the HomeNet International Gender Committee’s first discussion at NGO CSW, focusing on advancing gender issues in home-based work.
