The HomeNet Southeast Asia (HNSEA) Executive Committee meeting was held in Ha Noi City, Vietnam, on February 24-25, 2025, with 15 participants from six member countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. It was co-hosted by the Gender, Family, and Community Development (GFCD) and the Social Work – Community Development Research and Consultancy (SDRC). The meeting agenda focused on updating the implementing activities of HNSEA’s six member countries.

The meeting also served as a valuable platform for sharing experiences and lessons related to activities and achievements in supporting home-based workers, particularly in areas such as the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), social protection, and ILO’s Convention 177 on home-based workers. Participants also had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and difficulties faced during the implementation of support initiatives across different countries and to exchange solutions for more effective support.

Additionally, the HNSEA Executive Committee members discussed and shared experiences in fundraising. Various ideas and strategies were explored, especially in response to significant shifts in global funding sources. The discussions also provided a deeper understanding of the challenges and difficulties in fundraising, leading to practical recommendations for enhancing fundraising efforts in each country.

The meeting included a review of HNSEA’s Constitution focused on specific regulations to strengthen governance, enhance the effective participation of home-based workers, and reinforce the role of supporting organizations in HNSEA member countries.

All meeting agendas and discussions will serve as resources for our HNSEA Regional Assembly scheduled for May 2025.
