RENATTA is an organization made up of 1260 market vendors, street vendors, and home-based workers. It is part of the Campaign “Workers Overcoming Covid-19“ carried out by Informal Economy Workers´ Organizations in Lima, Peru. As part of the activities, from October to December 2021, RENATTA´s President (Rita Maguiña), Vice-President (Alcira Varillas) and Secretary of Organization (Gloria Solórzano), with support of HomeNet International and WIEGO, visited members in the following districts of Metropolitan Lima: Comas, Los Olivos, Independencia, San Martín de Porres, La Victoria and Cercado de Lima.
These visits made it possible to meet face-to-face with members again and find out how they are, as well as the situations they have been going through during the pandemic in 2021. Furthermore, RENATTA´s representatives carried out a consultation process and registered the organization as a Union in the Ministry of Labour of Peru. They are awaiting the administrative resolution confirming the registration.
