The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women marked a special moment in Karachi with the Home-based Women Workers Federation (HBWWF) seminar, “Women’s Resistance Knows No Borders.”
The event celebrated the contributions of the legendary Dominican Republic revolutionaries, the Butterfly Sisters, using their example to inspire political and human rights activists, as well as women workers, to speak out against the discriminatory laws that still exist today.
The speakers also called for the enactment of legal measures to protect women workers from workplace harassment, highlighting the discrimination faced by women factory workers.
